Pundit says one Spurs star is going to become one of the best in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur may be in a rough patch right now, and their defence are not being showered in glory at the moment, but Micky van de Ven continues to receive praise from pundits.

Van de Ven has become one of the best signings of the season, and is one of the few Spurs players still getting credit from fans and pundits alike in recent weeks.

The Dutchman has forged a wonderful partnership with Cristian Romero in the centre of the Spurs defence, and has even made the switch to left-back successfully in the last two games.

He scored a fine goal against Burnley last weekend to help Ange Postecoglou‘s men grab a much-needed win. Indeed, with just one win in the last six games, van de Ven has been a bright spark in a dull period for Spurs in the final stages of the season.

In a recent appearance on the Off the Ball podcast, Keith Treacy criticised the Tottenham defence overall, but had high praise for van de Ven and claimed he will become one of the best in the game in years to come.

Treacy said: “The full-backs, look… I don’t think Micky van de Ven is a problem, I think he’s going to be one of the best centre-halves in the league. But Pedro Porro for me and I think Romero can be rash as well. The first goal [conceded against Man City] was so flimsy.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I’ve been so impressed with van de Ven all season, and he seems to have stepped it up a notch of late, though that might be because everyone else’s performances have dropped. He’s got a bright future ahead, and hopefully he spends many years at Tottenham.
