Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell reportedly won’t have a shortage of suitors this coming offseason.

Mitchell still has a year left on his current contract. However, questions abound regarding Mitchell’s long-term desire to stick with the Cavs.

Three teams are primed to make a potential Mitchell trade offer, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. The veteran reporter appeared on Wednesday’s episode of “Get Up” and shared his intel about Mitchell’s potential landing spots.

“I’ll offer up three,” said Windhorst when asked about Mitchell. “The Lakers know that they need to improve their roster. They’re going to be hunting for a star. … The Miami Heat have been star-hunting for a year now. They have players on their roster that could potentially be interesting to Cleveland. The third team I’ll bring up is Brooklyn … Donovan Mitchell is from the New York area.”

The Houston Rockets were also mentioned as a dark horse suitor for Mitchell’s services.

Windhorst did clear up that Mitchell’s exit from Cleveland is not yet a foregone conclusion.

Windhorst added that if Mitchell does decide to ask for a trade, he will likely have a lot of control over where he ends up. The Cavs probably won’t get full value for Mitchell unless the 5-time All-Star agrees to an extension with his potential new team.

In two seasons with the Cavaliers, Mitchell averaged 27.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game on 47.5% shooting from the floor. Mitchell led Cleveland to back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the East.
