There is a chance that two of Chelsea’s long-term injured players could make the next Chelsea squad for Newcastle on Saturday.

The Blues have suffered a lot with injuries to key players over the last few seasons, and this season has been no different.

New signing Christopher Nkunku is yet to kick a ball competitively for his new club, and Romeo Lavia hasn’t kicked a ball yet for Chelsea at all other than in training.

Both have a chance of making the squad at the weekend, according to journalist Nizaar Kinsella writing for The Evening Standard this week.

He reports that Levi Colwill and Malo Gusto are now expected to return ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle on Saturday, with both Nkunku and Lavia having potentially four more training sessions to prove their fitness to Mauricio Pochettino’s staff.

Personally, I don’t think either will be in the squad just yet and I think it will be the next game after that where they might return.
