It's been slower going for Manchester United compared to last summer's transfer market, but we're beginning to see some movement.

This time last year, United had already sealed their first big-money deal of the summer with Mason Mount joining from Chelsea. There have been no senior additions this time out, at least at the time of writing, though some high-profile exits have been completed.

Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are the biggest names to move on, with Brandon Williams and Omari Forson also exiting. Donny van de Beek will be the next to go, with United taking a big financial hit on the Dutch international.

As for incomings, the conversation around Leny Yoro is not dying down in a hurry. Here are Mirror Football's latest lines from around Old Trafford.

Yoro sets the record straight

Leny Yoro has called out a fake social media account posing as him and suggesting he doesn't want to join Manchester United. The Premier League club face a battle to land the Lille centre-back, with Real Madrid also keen.

The comments prompted many fans on social media to urge the teenager to move to Old Trafford. While no decision has been made on his future, Lille president Olivier Letang has already indicated a summer exit is likely.

Yoro was a regular for Lille last season as Les Dogues finished fourth, sending them into the Champions League qualifying rounds. However, with a year left on his contract, he is expected to move on for a decent sum.

United have discussed Toney move

Manchester United have held discussions over a potential move for Ivan Toney or Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, according to The Athletic. Toney is currently away with England at Euro 2024, while Everton's Calvert-Lewin is back on Merseyside after Newcastle United pulled out of a potential move.

The Premier League pair aren't the only attacking options, though. Joshua Zirkzee remains high on United's list, and could well end up moving to Old Trafford if issues over a transfer fee from Bologna are resolved.

United already have Rasmus Hojlund leading the line, but the lack of backup for the Dane was a concern last season. And, with Martial leaving at the expiry of his contract, attacking depth is even lower than at this point last year.

Van de Beek says goodbye

Donny van de Beek has penned an emotional farewell to Manchester United ahead of his move to Girona. The £35m Dutchman is set to move for a cut-price £500,000 fee, though United are understood to have included add-ons and a sell-on clause.

"Dear Manchester United family. Today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end," the former Ajax star wrote on Instagram. "I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years. From the moment we arrived at Manchester United, we felt extremely welcome and we are grateful for that.

"Thank you to everyone at the club for making us feel at home. A special thanks to all the fans that made these years unforgettable. Besides the football, the birth of our two children here ensures that Manchester will always have a special place in our hearts. Good luck to everybody, we’ll meet again.
