Liverpool have allegedly been dealt a huge blow in their long-term pursuit of Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica.

The Anfield outfit have been tipped to move for the Kosovo international in the latest months, while Aston Villa have also been touted with an interest.

Rashica is expected to quit Werder Bremen after the club staved off relegation from the German top-flight on the final day of the season.

But the 24-year-old star is supposedly favouring a move to another German side rather than the Premier League.

According to a recent repot by a German outlet Bild, Rashica has snubbed an approach from Liverpool as he looks to seal a move to RB Leipzig.

The report claims that Die Roten Bullen are hoping to negotiate a lower fee with Werder Bremen, with Rashica’s current exit clause set at £33 million, and the winger has just under two years left to run on his existing deal.

The former Vitesse youngster amassed eight goals and seven assists from 28 Bundesliga outings during the 2019-20 term.

In other news, Leicester City star Harvey Barnes is a surprise summer transfer target for champions Liverpool.

The 22-year-old youngster, who has only become a first-team regular this campaign in Brendan Rodgers’ side, has impressed Jurgen Klopp with his forceful running and energy. Kop boss Jurgen also believes there is plenty to come from the England youth international, who previously spent time on loan at Milton Keynes Dons, Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion.
