Chelsea manager Frank Lampard this evening provided a fitness update on his squad, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Manchester United.

The Blues are set to welcome Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to Stamford Bridge on Monday, for a Premier League clash.

The matchup marks an absolutely crucial one in the English top-flight’s top-4 race.

As things stand, it is Chelsea who occupy the final Champions League berth.

The Londoners, however, sit just 2 points clear of surprise package Sheffield United in 5th.

Manchester United, meanwhile, sit 4 points further adrift of Chelsea.

As such, Monday’s showdown in the English capital could see the Red Devils’ Champions League hopes all-but ended.

If it is hosts Chelsea who emerge victorious from the clash, United will slip what would likely prove an insurmountable 9 points behind Frank Lampard’s men.

As such, speaking ahead of what is no doubt set to prove a tense affair in 3 days’ time, Lampard this afternoon provided the latest on the panel of players set to be at his disposal to take on United.

Spanish shot-stopper Kepa was dropped for Chelsea’s last outing, a 2-2 draw with Leicester at the beginning of the month.

His replacement, Willy Caballero, though, did not exactly cover himself in glory versus the Foxes.

But, when drawn on whether this is set to see Kepa return to starting duties on Monday night, Frank Lampard was keen to keep his cards close to his chest:

‘He has been training hard and has displayed good character. I have decided – you will find out on Monday night.’

Lampard then provided updates on attacking pair Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic.

First, the Chelsea boss confirmed that he is ‘hopeful’ that top-scorer Abraham will be fit to feature versus Man United:

‘Tammy is still feeling the effects, we’ve had to take him out of training a couple of days this week. He trained today so we’re hopeful but he’ll be assessed over the weekend.’

Pulisic, however, has been ruled out:

‘Christian trained with the Under-23s today, which will hopefully be for a short period and we’ll factor him back into our training soon but he won’t be fit.’
