Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is said to be unhappy at Arsenal and will hold talks with the club over his role in the team next week. The midfielder was heavily linked with a return to Italy during the summer with AC Milan said to have been leading the chase and it appears the Gunners star has become unimpressed with the way in which he’s being utilised.

Worryingly, it is stated that Torreira could leave in January.

These fans understand the 23-year-old’s frustrations with some blaming under pressure Head Coach Unai Emery for causing the player to be unhappy.

What do we think?

When Lucas Torreira arrived in the summer of 2018, Arsenal fans will have thought they were finally getting the defensive midfield player they had been longing for but in recent months it appears Unai Emery has decided the player is no longer suited to playing in that role.

Torreira has found starts difficult to come by this season, he’s made the starting line up in just 27% of the Gunners Premier League fixtures and when he has played he’s been tasked with pressing further up the field. It will come as no surprise to the clubs supporters that the Uruguayan has become disillusioned by his current role and so rumours of ‘showdown talks’ can be taken seriously.
